The questions boards actually ask

Yes, and it's the part we've worked hardest on. The Opening Balance Wizard takes your bank balances, each owner's receivable or prepaid balance, and any outstanding checks, then posts them as a clean starting point. You can upload from a spreadsheet, and you can undo the entire import if the numbers don't tie out.

Nothing breaks. The association owns the account, not the person — the board adds the next treasurer and removes the last one. Everything they did is in the system with an audit trail, so the new treasurer inherits records rather than a shoebox. This is the single most common reason self-managed associations lose control of their finances, and it's the problem the platform exists to solve.

The association's bank account stays the association's. Once your merchant account is active, owner payments settle into your account under your association's own merchant profile. Checks are drawn on your account and released by your approvals. We never hold your funds.

On Automate and Managed, paying by bank transfer is free to the owner — it's built into your monthly price rather than billed to them. Owners who choose to pay by card pay a convenience fee at checkout, shown before they confirm. Nobody is forced onto a card.
